Beauty, talent and intelligence are the focal points of the Queen of the Holetown Festival. Conceptualised in 1982 to not only bring a majestic end to the Holetown Festival but to scout and nurture talented young ladies between the ages of 17 and 26 who may not have had another avenue to showcase their talent. One of the longest continuously run pageants on the island Miss Holetown is noted for providing a sound foundation to many young women entering the pageant and fashion industry.
Miss Holetown Queens have made their presence felt in Barbados and throughout the world as they have embarked on a journey into Miss Barbados World and Universe which took them as far away as China. Olivia Harding Miss Barbados Universe 1999, Raquel Wilkinson Miss Barbados World 2003 and Kennifer Marius Miss Barbados World 2004 are some of the Queens who would have graced the International Stage. In 2005 in Antigua, Princess Best Miss Holetown 2005 created history in becoming the first Barbadian to ever win Miss Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show in 44 years.
In addition, we will be introducing a Miss Internet this year. Individuals are invited to vote for the contestant they believe is most likely to win the pageant.
Performances on the night of the show will include some former Queens, Dance in Africa among others. The pageant will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at The St. James Secondary School at 7:30 p.m. Welcome to the Cabaret. Admission: $30.00
